Macro Photography, creekside in the winter, a clear cold morning at the edge of ice and the flow of water. Add a direct strike of the sun and the image turns to shimmer and glow like a kaleidoscope of colors reflecting what is above and below in patterns dictated by the formations of ice.

The morning is arctic cold and clear and I am creekside, lying out on the ice with my macro lens inches from the edge. My subject is the flow of water over a tiny piece of ice. When the sun strikes at a certain angle, a kaleidoscope of images come in and out of focus. I still my foggy breath until that 1/80th slow click and then I hope that what I get is as beautiful as what I saw in the view finder
